You're a Disaster -WIP- by Ravenstar01 You're a Disaster -WIP- by Ravenstar01
Are you an angel
Whose ship ran aground?
Can't get a grip
On this planet you've found
Never to look down
Trade in my halo
For feet on the ground

Title is from You're A Disaster by Dragonette
Lyrics from Alien Angel by 3

I'm still a bit terrified of uploading this, so I'm gonna put it in my scraps. I am proud of it though, even if it isn't even halfway finished. One layer challenge awwyiss
So yeah, I was listening to a tumblr user's M'gann fanmix at 3am while working on a commission, and then I accidentally did this. Oops. Iregretnothing.

I have come to the conclusion that there will be no fictional character I love more (and cry more about) than M'gann M'orzz. She just makes me feel emotions to the max, with sentences that are hard to notice the first few times ( I never even noticed them the first 3 or 4 times). Unless of course you've seen the show 83578375865598658936598659856 times, like me.

I just have a lot of miss martian feels. *cries*

Yeah M'gann is a pretty incredible character, Im kind of ridiculously attached to her too, really the main reason I even stick around the YJ fandom still is to go "BUT M'GANN" whenever the fandom is ignoring her as they usually seem to.

I love her so so much <3 Just yes, so very incredible.
Honestly I hate how most of the fandom treats characters that aren't Artemis and Wally. I never found them all too impressive to be honest, entertaining yes, but nothing really more than that??? I just really couldn't connect to them that well if at all, although I still enjoy them as characters.
There are too few people who call out "BUT M'GANN" so thanks for that~

O yeah the fandom is a miserable place if your favorite character isn't Wally, Artemis or Dick and you don't ship Spitfire or Birdflash, really it's ridiculous that in a fandom with like over 20 recurring characters 3 of them get 80% of the fanworks. I mean really does that not get boring to people? The Tumblr fandom even while it was more active has never been much fun for me outside of my little circle of friends, though man while the show was running, I spent quite a lot of time chewing people out for putting hate in the M'gann tag (still do when it pops up) and stuff like that. I presume you have a tumblr as well since that's where like 95% of the fandom is centered so you know all this too.

I actually love Artemis a lot, she's got a really good long interesting storyline and plenty of depth to her, I love the family stuff (and her relationships with her family are FAR more interesting than her relationship with Wally) with her, I love her friendships with M'gann and Zatanna and Kaldur and others, she's my second or third favorite character depending on my mood (she competes with Kaldur). So yeah Artemis has a well written character arc that people have talked about in ways that are far better than I am capable of talking about.

But Wally yeah, I have no idea what the fandom sees in him, he's funny at times sure but there really was little to his character outside of his relationship's with Artemis and Dick and being comic relief. What was his character arc, how did he really grow and change? like I guess he matured a bit in S1 but that was really mainly condensed into one freaking episode, his main arc WAS HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH ARTEMIS, unlike the other characters who had romance yet still had big stories and arcs outside of them like M'gann, Artemis, Conner. And then in S2 he's pretty much ether not there, or just there to angst about Artemis. That all led to me not caring about Wally, which led to me not caring about his romance with Artemis since i have to care about both sides to really get invested in a relationship between characters. But yeah compared to the rest of the original 6 Wally is pretty much really mediocre. Really you could take him out entirely and the narrative would barely change, a lot of specific scenes would of course but the overaching plot, not really. He just was not well integrated into the plot for a character that was supposed to be one of THE leads.

Not to mention all the characters are amazing and interesting in their own way, whether it is positively or negatively. Well, the fanworks get boring to me that's for sure, not that I don't appreciate people's hard work. Art is amazing in every way, but it would be nice to see a couple of different shades of gray in there.
I honestly ignored most of the M'gann hate when the show was running. 90% of it was utter garbage that was repetitive and made no sense to me.
Oh yeah Artemis was definitely interesting, I just never got connected, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I probably should have. Not that I didn't enjoy it at all! The friendships in general on this show were pretty fantastic.

People tend to fall for charming characters. Because believe me, I was one of them for about half of season one.  He was a charming character, but that's what he mostly felt like to me charming and nothing more. He had some moments yeah, but not enough for me to love him the way the rest of the fandom does.  Although, I personally could not imagine the show without Wally, I do see what you're saying. And I think it's true.
